Independent Storage

The P3KI system is fully agnostic to its underlying storage solution. We recommend using our peer-to-peer storage layer.

However, anything that's a key-value store can be used to transport trust information. Our system makes no requirements regarding security guarantees to its storage layer.

For in-house enterprise setups it's easy to operate on a central database or a database cluster.

If some of your nodes only have intermittent network connectivity or none at all, trust information can be stored in plain text files.

All trust information, no matter where it is stored, is cryptographically protected against modification and can be easily verified offline.
